Day in the life of a Virtual AssistantHey there! Thanks for dropping by. Welcome to my virtual office. My name is Trena and I’ve been a Virtual Assistant since 2007. If you’re here, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that you are either a Virtual Assistant or the thought of going down this road has crossed your mind a time or two.

Having over a decade of experience in the industry, I think it’s time for me to focus on giving back to my community. No, I’m not closing my business, Apex Virtual Solutions is still servicing our amazing clients, but I do feel an obligation to give back to the community that has helped me provide an amazing life for my family.

Enough talking about my who and why, lol. Are you interested in knowing what a day in my life as a Virtual Assistant looks like? Well, just keep on reading.

5:30 AM EST –  I’m awake and ready to meditate. Meditating in the mornings helps me stay balanced. During the day, I’m spending most of my time dissolving client chaos and helping them stay on top of tasks that are crucial to the development and growth of their business. The last thing they need is for me to come unwound.

6:30 AM EST – It’s time to sweat. Working out is another great way to get balanced, relieve stress and get the mental juices flowing. I find that something is off the days I skip workouts.

8:00 AM EST – After workouts, I take an hour to get caught up on any pressing tasks that need to get done for either my company or for clients.

9:00 AM EST – Time to tackle my emails, arghhh! This task is usually very daunting because I get so much spam. Everyone’s selling something or looking to partner. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking the hustle, but boy is it time consuming to go through those emails.

10:00 AM EST – It’s time for breakfast! Yep, I eat breakfast rather late. I read a study some time ago that said consuming coffee too early in the morning can cause you to be jittery and hyper alert only to crash soon after. Now that I eat later, there is a difference in my energy level.

11:00 AM EST to 12:00 PM EST – The next two hours are for client or team meetings.

12:00 PM EST to 2:00 PM EST – Tackling client tasks that are either assigned to me or helping my team complete things on their to-do list consumes the next two hours.

2:00 PM EST – Time to eat! No explanation needed here.

3:00 PM EST to 6:00 PM EST – Back to working on client work or my own company tasks like marketing, sending proposals and following up with prospects.

6:00 PM EST – Winner, winner, chicken dinner (in my Guy Fieri voice, lol).

7:00 PM EST to 10:00 PM EST – The grind continues. Many of my nights are spent working. I love what I do so burning the midnight oil doesn’t really seem like work for me. I enjoy every minute of what I do.

This pretty much sums up my day (Monday through Friday). Of course, there are days when I have to alter this schedule because I’m doing training sessions, client meetings, speaking engagements or client work that has to be expedited. If you’re a virtual assistant and reading this, I’d love to know what your schedule looks like. Share it in the comment section below.
